EURO-TIDES:
A European Tidal Energy Pilot Farm Focused on Industrial Design, Environmental Mitigation and Sustainability
EURO-TIDES aims to deliver a fully operational tidal energy farm powered by four turbines based on Orbital Marine Power’s proven O2 device.
The project’s objectives are to:
De-risk tidal energy technology development.
Reduce the Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) for Orbital Marine Power’s floating tidal technology.
Increase the availability and reliability of tidal stream energy production.
Enhance the bankability and insurability of the technology through performance verification aligned with internationally recognised methodologies.
Strengthen market confidence and build greater supply chain capacity.
Improve understanding of environmental impacts.
By delivering these advancements, the EURO-TIDES project will accelerate commercialisation and support the development of a project pipeline exceeding 2 GW.
